Joint Committee on Disability Matters to discuss Ireland’s progress on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The Joint Committee on Disability Matters will discuss Ireland’s progress on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) when it meets tomorrow, Wednesday, 18 November.

The meeting at 4.30pm in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House will hear from Professor Gerard Quinn, UN Special Rapporteur, Raoul Wallenberg Chair, Raoul Wallenberg Institute, Sweden, and Research Chair, University of Leeds.

Committee Chair Deputy Michael Moynihan said: “Professor Quinn is a leading authority on international and comparative disability law and policy and the Committee looks forward to hearing his views on Ireland’s progress on implementing the UNCRPRD.”

The Joint Committee on Disability Matters has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
