481. Deputy Tom Barry asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of Garda vehicles, both traffic corps and fleet that have been in service annually more than the last 10 years. [45854/12]
View answerI am advised by the Garda authorities that Garda vehicles are not exclusively designated to any particular duty and are available to be deployed in a variety of roles in response to operational requirements. The Deputy will appreciate, therefore, that it is not practicable to provide a breakdown for the period concerned between Traffic Corps and other fleet vehicles. In that context, I am advised by the Garda authorities that the strength of the Garda fleet for the years 2005 to date is as outlined in the following table:
